Please spare me the Jewish connection, Mr. Kerry

...Because at the end of the day we and our children and our children's children are the ones who are going to bear the consequences of the decisions regarding the proposals.

We are in the middle of a critical policy debate.

A policy debate revolving around some very real issues and proposals to address them.

These proposals must be judged on their own merits.

It doesn't matter if the proposals are drafted by a team that includes many American Jews.

It doesn't matter if the proposals are delivered by a man who has relatives who died as Jews in the Holocaust or whose brother converted to Judaism.

What matters are the proposals themselves.

That's the contents of the proposals.

Not the titles.

Not the 15 word introductions.

Not even the 5 line executive summaries.

Because at the end of the day we and our children and our children's children are the ones who are going to bear the consequences of the decisions regarding the proposals.
